THE LEAN TO CONSERVATORY

The lean to conservatory is often thought of as being quite basic but actually it is a very versatile design. For instance, the width and depth options can mean that you can make the most of the available space you have plus because of the clean lines you can maximise the interior to give yourself a nice open-plan room.

By carefully choosing the specification you can opt for bi-fold doors which will really give you a wonderful outdoor feel or you could select to have traditional French windows which always look smart and are very practical, especially

when you want to open up the room and step into your garden during the summer months.

One thing you will need to measure is the height and position of the first floor windows and any drain or down spout locations as these are usually connected to your homes drainage system. Some of the most attractive conservatories are variations of the lean to design so if you are looking for an easy self-build project, this could well be your best and most practical option.

THE DESIGN, SHAPE & SIZE

Why the lean-to conservatory is so popular.

From a self build point of view the lean to style is a very straight forward proposition. Technically the construction process is much quicker and logical. But the real benefit is the extra living space you create, because your conservatory will be a square or rectangle shape – you will be able to use the room for virtually any purpose, dining, kitchen, office, playroom, lounge and you will be adding value to your home.

TRANSFORM YOUR HOME

The lean-to design slopes away from your home so it is naturally good when it comes to keeping things dry. You can choose from a wide range of options in terms of the walls and roof materials. Whether you would like the full glass floor to ceiling or a mix of wall and windows, they are both very popular. We can also recommend one of our high performance glass products for the roof.
